ven while focused on recovery, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes still found a way to make Valentine’s Day special for his family. The superstar signal-caller, currently rehabbing a serious knee injury, delivered a heartfelt surprise for his wife Brittany Mahomes and their daughters – proving football isn’t the only thing on his mind this offseason.
Mahomes family moments during a difficult recovery
Mahomes is currently working his way back from a torn ACL and LCL suffered late in the season. The injury required surgery and began a demanding rehabilitation process that will likely stretch into the offseason program.
Despite the seriousness of the setback, the quarterback remains optimistic about his timeline. He has made it clear his goal is to be ready when the Chiefs open the next campaign.
I want to be ready for Week 1. The doctors said I could, but I can’t predict what happens throughout the process. That’s the goal, to play Week 1 and have no restrictions.

The rehab hasn’t been easy. Mahomes acknowledged recovery comes with good and bad days, something he’s learning to manage with patience and discipline.
“What I’ve found out through this process is not every day is going to feel amazing,” he explained. “You have to have somebody you trust that’s going to get the best out of you but that’s going to keep you safe.”
Still, he remains encouraged by how clean the surgery went compared to other potential knee complications.
“As bad as it was, it was as clean as it could be,” he added. “Now it’s just about rehabbing and getting the ACL and the LCL right.”
Brittany shared the moment on social media, posting a photo of their children holding bouquets sent by their father. Mahomes also sent flowers directly to her, turning a simple holiday into a meaningful family moment.
