Jak ustaliła Wirtualna Polska, aż 212 posłów w ubiegłym roku miało nieusprawiedliwioną nieobecność na sejmowych posiedzeniach. Rekordzistami są posłowie PiS przebywający na Węgrzech: Marcin Romanowski i Zbigniew Ziobro. W przypadku tego drugiego Prezydium Sejmu podjęło niedawno uchwałę o utracie diety parlamentarnej i obniżeniu uposażenia posła do 1/10 jego wysokości w kolejnych miesiącach.

Obowiązek usprawiedliwiania nieobecności posłów na posiedzeniach Sejmu i posiedzeniach komisji sejmowych wynika z regulaminu Sejmu.
“W razie niemożności wzięcia udziału w posiedzeniu Sejmu lub komisji, poseł w miarę możliwości zawiadamia przed terminem posiedzenia odpowiednio marszałka Sejmu lub przewodniczącego komisji, a następnie jest obowiązany w ciągu 7 dni usprawiedliwić w formie pisemnej swoją nieobecność odpowiednio przed marszałkiem Sejmu lub przewodniczącym komisji” – czytamy w regulaminie.
