Live: Trump threatens to hit Iran hard; Tehran pledges to ‘fight back’
Iran fires more missiles at Israel after United States President Donald Trump threatens to bomb Iran back to “the Stone Ages”. During his address to the nation on Wednesday, Trump said that Washington is close to achieving its war objectives.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson says Tehran will continue to fight back for as long as US-Israeli strikes continue. Esmaeil Baghaei adds Tehran “will not tolerate this vicious cycle of war, negotiations, ceasefire”.
Iranian has dismissed President Donald Trump’s declaration that the United States’ core strategic objectives in Iran are nearing completion.
This is contained in a statement by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, on Thursday.
“We will not accept this vicious cycle of war, then negotiations, then a ceasefire, then a repeat of the same pattern.
“This is not only disastrous for Iran, but for the entire region and beyond,” Baghaei said.
Baghaei described the conflict as not an ordinary war, noting that it is a combination of terrorist activities and warfare.
They have targeted our leaders, our military commanders, even when they were not on duty. This is an unjust war imposed on the Iranian people and therefore we have no choice but to respond forcefully,” he added.
