The United Arab Emirates stepped in to support stranded tourists by covering hotel accommodation costs during unexpected travel disruptions. A move many are calling a true example of hospitality and crisis leadership. 🇦🇪…

The United Arab Emirates will cover hotel stays and meal expenses for tourists stranded in the country due to widespread flight cancellations triggered by the escalating US–Israel war on Iran, aviation authorities confirmed.

The announcement comes as airspace closures across the Middle East have forced major UAE carriers, including Emirates, Etihad Airways, flydubai and Air Arabia, to suspend or scale back operations, leaving thousands of travellers unable to depart from hubs such as Dubai International Airport, Zayed International Airport and Sharjah International Airport.

Government-backed support measures
The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) said the UAE will bear accommodation and meal costs for passengers whose arrivals or departures have been cancelled due to the conflict-linked airspace shutdowns.

Airlines are offering full refunds or free rebooking options for affected passengers. Temporary welfare arrangements, including food and refreshments, are also being provided at airport terminals under contingency plans activated during the crisis.
